Over the past 4/5 years I've been honing and constantly developing my marketing skills.
Back in 2014 I was a failing Personal Trainer that struggled to generate more than £200 per month. I actually did so bad that the gym that I worked at refused to accept my rent because I couldn't afford it. I failed because I didn't practice what I preached. It wasn't uncommon for me to sneak a McDonald's into the gym and eat it in the back room.
Would you buy fitness sessions from someone like that? Nah, me neither!
After bowing my head in shame I briefly left being self employed to pursue a career in management. I still enjoyed fitness but the personal training life wasn't for me. By the time I was 19 I became the General Manager of the gym I worked at due to my ability to market and sell gym memberships. I finally found what I was good at!
Over the course of a year I QUADRUPLED gym sales mainly through Facebook and Instagram Marketing.
One night I thought to myself "that was fun, I wonder if anyone else would pay me to do their marketing?"
The next day I marched into a local Trampoline Parke and asked to see the manager. To my amazement I actually managed to meet with not just the manager but the owner. During the meeting I secured my first ever marketing client for £500pm.
Over the next 6 months I generated this business £28,000 in fitness classes alone!
I used this client as a case study when speaking to other businesses and before I knew it I was earning more from my "side hustle" than my full time job as a general manager at the gym. So, I made the leap and set up Smith Media.
Smith Media is my baby and we are a social media focused agency but we can also help with web design, PPC, SEO, you name it!
Over the past 3 years I have worked with hundreds of brands, delivered amazing results but something still felt missing...
I wanted to create something that everyone could use and learn from. I wanted to show people how to do what I do.
It sounds very counter productive but I want to make my job irrelevant!
Hence, Marketing School and all of the courses that it offers!
It's my job to practice what I preach and give you the knowledge that I wish I knew before learning it. Let's get into It!
